Ok, so you’ve been caught drinking and driving and now you’re searching for a San Diego drunk driving attorney to help you with your case. One of the main concerns for people is: How much is a lawyer going to cost and can I afford it?
The cost to have a lawyer represent you can vary from lawyer to lawyer and from case to case. However, there are some things you should do and consider in regards to cost before hiring one:
1. Get a quote over the phone – don’t fall prey to lawyers who require you to come into their office. They will only pressure you into hiring them!
2. Provide all the facts in the case so that the lawyer can give you an accurate quote.
3. Make sure that there aren’t any “hidden” costs.

I do highly recommend that you find a San Diego DUI lawyer who is registered with the Better Business Bureau. I’ve discovered that many fee attorneys are NOT registered with the San Diego Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Criminal defense is very different from civil law practice however. You will want to know how much criminal defense, and DWI work any lawyer you hire has under his belt.”
There are a few things you’ll want to know about a lawyer before you hire him/her to represent you in your DUI case:
1. Who will be handling your case – the primary lawyer or someone else in the firm?
2. What percentage of their cases are actually DUI cases?
3. How much do they charge and what are all the fees involved?
Personally, I think it’s best to hire a lawyer who specializes in DUI cases. That way you know you’re dealing with someone who is very knowledgable about the subject. In addition, if you hire a San Diego DUI lawyer, make sure they’re professional and up front with you.
