Not too long ago a Riverside County judge decided to reduce the sentence of a drunk driver who hit and killed a motorcyclist. A two-year sentence became a one-year sentence. Definitely not a harsh enough sentence for me!
This same judge also gave a one-year sentence to a man whose was three times the legal limit when he killed someone while drunk driving. In my opinion, two years is simply too short of a sentence for killing someone while drunk driving.
What kind of message is this judge sending?
It’s up to communities to provide concentrated interventions to help prevent these reoccurring nightmares. Here’s an idea: why not reduce the availability of alcohol in the community?
Unfortunately, fatal crashes due to drunk driving happen. If you’re in San Diego and ever caught as a drunk driver in this tough predicament, call a San Diego DUI lawyer as soon as possible!
